Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 June 2026
Litora ("we", "the app") helps you listen to books you already own. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.
Who we are
Litora is operated by the Litora team. For any privacy question, contact litora@codeblog.net.
What we collect
- Account. When you sign in with email, Google, or Apple, we store your account identifier and email address to authenticate you and sync your library across devices. You may also use the app as a guest, in which case an anonymous account is created without an email.
- Your books. Files you import (EPUB or text), the parsed text, generated audio, and covers are stored in your private cloud storage so you can listen across devices. Only you can access them.
- Reading data. Your current position, bookmarks, and per-book voice choices, so you resume where you left off.
- Usage & credits. The amount of audio synthesized and AI usage, to operate your balance and credit packs.
- Diagnostics. Basic crash and error information to keep the app working. We do not build advertising profiles.
Service providers we use
- Supabase — authentication, database, and private file storage for your account and library.
- Microsoft Azure Speech — converts your book text into spoken audio (text-to-speech).
- OpenAI — generates optional passage explanations and processes voice features when you use them.
- Apple App Store / Google Play — process purchases of credit packs. We never receive your full payment details.
Text is sent to these providers only as needed to produce audio or a feature you requested, and is not used by us for advertising.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not show third-party ads.
- We do not read or share the contents of your books with anyone other than the processing providers above, and only to deliver the feature you asked for.
Data retention
We keep your account and library until you delete them. You can delete individual books in the app at any time, which removes their files and audio. You can delete your entire account and all associated data — see Delete your account.
Children
Litora is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region) and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Your rights
You can access, export, or delete your data by contacting litora@codeblog.net, or by deleting your account in the app. Depending on your region, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
